Atwood Paracord is a high-quality paracord that is made from 75% nylon and 25% polyester. Type 2 paracord is a bit thicker than type 1 paracord and is often used for making bracelets and other accessories. Type 1 paracord is a type of paracord that is made from 550 lb test nylon. It is the most common type of paracord and is often used for outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, and backpacking. Atwood Microcord is thinner than type 1 or type 2 paracord and is often used for making bracelets and other accessories.
The third thinnest cord that is produced and the thinnest that carries the “Paracord name” sitting above Micro Cord which is 1.18mm and Nano Cord which is .75mm in diameter. Type 1 has a tensile strength of 95LBs which is 43KG strangely a little less than Micro Cord which is rated at 100LBs / 46KG.

Our Type II Paracord is known for its remarkable tensile strength of 425LBs or 192KGs. It’s carefully crafted with three inner core threads and a sleeve composed of 16 strands, ensuring durability and reliability in any situation.
This is the genuine, US-made, 550lb breaking strain, 7-strand core paracord. This cord has been tested to ensure a minimum breaking strain of 550lb (250kg). Unlike many other types of paracords out there that are usually made of inferior polyester, our cord is made exclusively in the USA using 100% nylon.
Paracord UK’s PPM cord is often considered to be the preferred choice of Paracord users for dog leads and horse halters. Its similar to 550 Paracord in terms of appearance, but it has a much higher breaking strain and boasts 11 inner braids, instead of the usual 7 found in 550. The Diameter is thicker at 10mm and the entire cord is made from 100% Nylon. Paracord UK’s PPM cord is American made.
